Our mission is to prevent domestic violence in intimate partner relationships in Lane County and support survivors in claiming personal power.
We believe that each person has the right to lead a life free from violence and fear of abuse.
Intimate partner violence is a pattern of coercive or controlling behavior that can include financial, physical, or psychological abuse. It is the most common and least reported crime in our country. It affects people of all abilities, ages, genders, sexual orientations, and economic, cultural, racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. Every 9 seconds in the United States, a woman is battered by her husband, boyfriend or live-in partner. The epidemic of domestic violence can affect anyone. It will take all of us to make each of us safe.
We offer the following services:
- Emergency Shelter
- 24-hour Crisis Line
- Support Groups
- Transitional Programs
- Community Education
- Legal Advocacy
- Rural Advocacy
Womenspace is funded by private donations, government and foundation grants and the United Way of Lane County.
